A traffic accident on the B 69 in Halbenrain (Styria) ended Monday night fatally for a 24-year-old southeastern Styria. The driver ran off the road, collided with a building and was trapped in the car.
The young man was driving on the B 69 from Halbenrain towards Unterpurkla shortly after midnight on Monday. He may have lost control of the car on a left turn, police said.
He ran off the road and crashed into a farm. The 24-year-old driver was trapped in the vehicle. A Federal Army patrol at border operations notified the rescue and attempted to resuscitate the young man. The emergency physician tried again, but the CPR was to no avail.
The car is a total loss, the farm is also damaged.
