Damage makes you smart. Not a 29-year-old lowlander. The incorrigible criminal was convicted for the 15th time at the regional court in Feldkirch. This time, he was given a one-year suspended sentence for property damage, burglary and the suppression of documents – not final.
“You are experienced in court,” Mr. Rat told the accused. When asked, he doesn’t really want to remember his criminal record and gambles “one or a maximum of two”. But there are 14 registrations, partly because of a violation of the firearms law. He is now charged with damaging two wooden fences and a solar lamp in Koblach last year, removing several manhole covers and breaking into two cars. He can barely remember that either. He still pleads guilty.
As an explanation for the amnesia, the Unterländer, who is currently helping out on his uncle’s farm in Carinthia, mentions drug abuse in connection with alcohol. “I was prescribed antidepressants at the time. However, I also did not adhere to the dosage,” said the suspect. The situation then occurred in combination with alcohol.
“I don’t want to hear from you anymore”
The judge stuck his stick in the window and sentenced him to a year in prison with a suspended sentence and a fine of 1,200 euros. Judge’s conclusion: “I don’t want to hear from you anymore, except that you have become a good organic farmer.”
