In the case of six-year-old Leon, who was found dead during a house search on Sunday morning in the Kitzbüheler Ache in St. Johann in Tirol, there is still no trace of the perpetrator who previously had the father of the child (37) with a punched bottle unconscious. The investigation is running smoothly. The National Criminal Investigation Department is still hoping for clues.
The researchers are currently focusing on evaluating the secure tracks and on possible “knowledge gain” through information from the population, LKA boss Katja Tersch told the APA. It is still unclear whether the 37-year-old father can be questioned on Tuesday and depends on his health. In any case, an interrogation was not yet possible on Monday.
No signs of violence among boys
But an autopsy at Innsbruck forensics confirmed the boy had drowned. Apparently Leon – when his father was unconscious – crawled out of the pram and fell into the Kitzbüheler Ache. In addition, the investigation found no evidence of any violence that could have been done to the child before the accident.
Walking calmed the disabled Leon
The 37-year-old was walking on a promenade next to the Ache at 4am on Sunday night with his infant son in a pram when the robbery apparently took place. Walking was by no means unusual at the time, as the disabled Leon suffered from insomnia. This calmed him down.
There is still no trace of the unknown robber. The investigations are continuing at full speed. A search is underway for possible witnesses or whistleblowers.
