An autopsy has confirmed what the “Krone” already reported: the victims of the tragic crash of a small plane in St. Andrä im Lungau on November 2 were four men. They came from Salzburg, Upper Austria and Bavaria.
A 48-year-old from Salzburg also died in the crash. A man came from the Schärding district in Upper Austria and was 50 years old. Another victim, a 39-year-old, came from Grieskirchen in Upper Austria. The two men from the Innviertel were experienced pilots. A man (52) from Traunstein in Bavaria also died in the crash.
The sports plane took off from Zagreb and was supposed to land in Schärding. Eyewitnesses reported to the “Krone” that the crash happened very quickly: engine noises in the air, the bang and the machine disappeared. It is still unclear why the plane crashed over the forest. Detectives and experts are still clarifying whether the crash was caused by erratic weather or a technical malfunction. The report is still under consideration.
