Tragic operation Thursday evening in the Meidling district of Vienna: WEGA was called to an apartment where a mentally ill man was staying. However, when emergency services arrived, the 28-year-old jumped out of a window. All help came too late for him.
The 28-year-old had secretly left a mental institution. Shortly afterwards, a neighbor heard loud noises coming from the man’s apartment and alerted police.
Due to these circumstances, WEGA arrived on the scene and opened the door of the apartment on the fourth floor. The 28-year-old may have jumped out of a window at that moment.
The officers tried to resuscitate the man, but an emergency doctor could only determine that he was dead.
Apartment completely destroyed
Emergency services found the 28-year-old’s apartment in a destroyed condition. The coffee table was destroyed and the shards were scattered throughout the living room. Drugs and objects used for drug use were also seized.
