According to insiders, tugs have refloated a ship that ran aground in Egypt’s Suez Canal late Wednesday. The ship briefly blocked the southern part of the canal, two SCA officials familiar with the matter said.
According to the ship monitoring service TankerTrackers, the Affinity V of shipping company Aframax appeared to have lost control on its way south in the waterway so important for worldwide shipping.
“She temporarily blocked traffic and is now sailing south again, but is slowly moving forward with the help of tugs,” TankerTrackers said on Twitter.
