After 27 years of professional activity, an Upper Austrian lost her job, but found a new one within a very short time. Nevertheless, the AMS canceled its credentials.
The reason for the measure was a family holiday booked in 2019, which had to be postponed to this summer in 2020 because of Corona. “The two weeks fell in the two months of my unemployment. I could not have imagined that when I booked”, explains Andrea N. (name changed). This is not an exception for the AMS. Therefore, the 42-year-old’s blankets were heavily removed.
When AMS money is paid abroad
Only those who can demonstrate that they are looking for work there, offering themselves to an employer or completing an apprenticeship are entitled to unemployment benefits during a stay abroad. Compelling family reasons are also an exception. Nothing can be said about the specific case at the moment. The decision of the Federal Administrative Court is still pending. However, due to the legal framework, no positive result is to be expected.
New service contract also submitted
The Upper Austrian is in any case disappointed: “From day one I worked non-stop and found a new job independently within a few weeks. I have also submitted my new employment contract to the AMS. Just because I’m not sitting on the terrace in the sun, but gone with my family, which we have been looking forward to for so long, my money is being cut.” It is really incomprehensible.
