A light plane crashed into the parking lot of a circus in the German city of Duisburg on Sunday. Two people died. The plane caught fire in the collision, a police spokesman said.

Investigations are still ongoing
A spokesman for the Duisburg fire brigade, meanwhile, spoke to the newspaper “Bild” about happiness in misfortune. “Had the plane crashed 100 meters away, there would have been an unimaginable catastrophe.” Shortly before the crash, circus spectators had gathered in the tent as the performance was about to begin.
Police said it was not yet possible to say who the dead were. It is also unclear whether there are other casualties or other injuries, as well as the question of how the crash started.
