Dumbledore admits his homosexuality in a boring and funny movie

Date:

In one of the most emblematic moments of the series Pakita SalasA representative of the actors says that they rejected one of the clients The secret of the old bridge Because of “too many pens.” Ironically, the character said, “It was the ‘Secret of Puente Viejo,’ ‘homosexuality. It is interesting that J.K. Rowling decided to name a new part Fantastic animals Რa The Mysteries of DumbledoreIt was at this time that great expectations were directed at finding out whether the mighty magician had finally told his homosexuality.

The writer has said in various interviews that the characters are gay, but not all in the Harry Potter film or the first two parts. Fantastic animals Was mentioned about her sexual condition. Four years later, this new film emerges and proves that Pakita Salas is always right, as one of Dumbledore’s secrets was his homosexuality and romantic relationship with Grindelwald, the villain who changes his face. The controversy has forced Warner Bros. to decide to eliminate Johnny Depp and sign Mads Mickelsen, which is a wise choice, as the actor is one of the few surviving items from the film.

Dumbledore, played by Jude Law – arguably the best in the entire film – is the absolute protagonist of this part and its past, one of the secrets that has been revealed. Her sexual identity is discussed from the first scene, a meeting between two magicians where they openly discuss a romantic relationship. Discussing this issue a few more times, the final confrontation will lead us to one of the few visually imaginative and exciting scenes in which both listen to hearts as they fight.

These are some of the redemptive features of a feature film (almost two and a half hours), boring and, above all, funny. There is no narrative logic in the script. Events happen in a hurry, in vain. The scenes follow each other without any order, without moving towards one another, without any dramatic construction, without generating tension. It is confusing. The characters appear and disappear without rhythm and reason. An attempt is made to explain this chaos, which is embarrassing: since the villain can see fragments of the future, he must be concerned. Viewers are annoyed because the characters spend more than half of the film making decisions that no one understands. They appear in places where they know they are in ambush.

Script deviations are arbitrary. In one of the “adventures” of the protagonists, four of them go to dinner, where the authorities decide to detain one of them, leaving the others free without any explanation. In the second, a bouquet of enemies forces the two characters to surrender, but after 15 minutes they see how they hold sticks and fight as if nothing had happened. Everything in a chain sequence Set Actions that are probably spectacular, but it happens in the midst of so much chaos that it is impossible to feel any emotion. Epic is not just an excellent bill or luxury production design. The epic is built and here it does not exist. Importantly, the most emotional moment in the film is when John Williams’s music plays for the Harry Potter saga.

There is a moment in the middle of the shot that is an excellent summary of the film. After a thousand adventures, a journey to a thousand places, the loss of several allies along the way and no one can understand why they did something, they meet at Hogwarts and ask where their plan is. “Worse than the beginning,” Dumbledore says. And this is where the film begins. Everything that has happened so far is a waste of time and an excuse to extend and complete a story that has no consistency, written by J.K. himself. Rowling.

The Harry Potter saga went like clockwork because of its ability to create the original world, an adventure for the whole family, full of magic, humor and lots of fun. Even the worst births were seen with a smile and there were always amazing pictures. Instead, everything here smells like a repetitive formula. Creatures created on autopilot. Humor sounds overly childish, no spells, no charismatic characters (Eddie Redman still suffers a lot from Newt Scamander). There is a scene where Scamander and his brother dance to catch a few Scorpios bordering on absurdity, seemingly conceived for five-year-olds (maximum).

Infantilization, which runs counter to the background of the story, warns of populism, extreme right-wing leaders, and everyone’s responsibility to prevent them from sinking and spreading. It is a shame that all this is buried and the necessary time is not devoted to developing this idea and deepening the love affair between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, which evokes more emotion and enthusiasm in its two notes than the rest of the film.
