A serious traffic accident occurred in the municipality of Paternion in Carinthia on Sunday evening: a 39-year-old woman who had touched a tree while drunk had to be rescued from her car by two accident witnesses.
In the municipality of Paternion, the drunk 39-year-old from the Villach district was standing on Kreuzner Landesstraße when her vehicle suddenly left the road on the right. “She ran over a roadblock, hit a tree, rolled over and came to rest with her head in a ditch about two meters deep,” police said.
Witnesses rescue injured person from her car
A resident was able to observe the serious accident: “After the resident heard a loud bang, he rushed to help the 39-year-old,” the police continued. A police officer who happened to be driving by also stopped – together the two freed the injured driver from her wreckage.
She was then taken by ambulance to the hospital in Spittal an der Drau. “A breath analysis performed showed that he was heavily under the influence of alcohol!”
