The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)the UN nuclear agencyrecommends after his recent visit to the nuclear factory of Zaporizhzhya to establish safety zone around the center, avoid a possible radioactive disaster.
“This requires an agreement from all parties for the establishment of a nuclear safety and protection zone around the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant,” says the IAEA report, released Tuesday in Vienna.
Zaporizhzhya, occupied by Russian troops and disconnected from the Ukrainian network since Monday afternoon, has been the scene of bombings blamed on each other by Russia and Ukraine, and which have been at risk of nuclear disaster for months.
