A German died on Tuesday in a tragic accident involving an e-bike in Landeck in Tyrol. The 78-year-old man fell about 20 meters over steep, near-vertical terrain, sustaining fatal injuries. The German was traveling with a group of 13 e-bikers.
The e-biker group wanted to go from Landeck to Nauders around 9.00 on Tuesday with a “cycling guide”. Your route went on bike paths, forest trails and single trails. At 9.29 am the group was on the forest road in the “Schloßwald” and turned right onto the hiking trail or single trail, the cycle path detour of the “Fliesser Platte” to get to the through cycle path “Via Claudia”. But a short time later, the fatal accident happened.
The path the motorcycle group had taken was interspersed with rocks and roots. After driving about 50 meters, the German lost his balance for unknown reasons, which the police informed.
Attempts at CPR were unsuccessful
The 78-year-old fell to the right and fell – tilting – about 15 to 20 meters over the steep, almost vertical forest terrain. He stood motionless on the forest path below. The group immediately performed resuscitation measures – but these were unsuccessful. The man died at the scene of the accident.
