There is still much speculation in the south of the country about an alleged waste processing project. According to an anonymous letter, 100,000 tons of waste are processed there every year. Research by “Krone” led from Sollenau to Neckarsulm (D).
An anonymous warning about a supposedly planned waste treatment plant in Sollenau caused a stir in the Wiener Neustadt district, as reported. After all, 100,000 tons of waste must be dumped there in the future, the authors explain. While the authorities were still in the dark, the “Krone” asked around in secret business circles – and lo and behold, suddenly there was talk of a “land deal” and a “Lidl subsidiary”.
Management is silent
After several questions with the real estate company C. Guttmann GmbH and the Lidl subsidiary PreZero, based in Neckarsulm, Germany, a wall of silence was always erected. “The management does not want to talk about eggs that have not been laid,” say the real estate experts. And the marketing department of the waste management company is officially unaware of a new waste management facility in Austria. However, expansion plans in this country are confirmed.
So while the local authorities and residents of Sollenau remain in the dark, the potential operators of a potential future waste treatment facility can already prepare for headwinds. Memories of the foreclosed landfill site in nearby Theresienfeld are omnipresent on the site.
