A pedestrian (24) was hit by a heavy truck in front of a parking lot in Villach on Saturday night. The driver had overlooked the man crossing the entrance to a parking lot.
The accident happened around 11 p.m. Friday. A 24-year-old from Villach was on his way home from a restaurant when a Salzburg truck driver (39) turned off a municipal road toward a parking lot.
Passerby was thrown to the ground
“The 24-year-old was overlooked by the truck driver when crossing the entrance to the parking lot. The truck hit the man with the left side of the front bumper. He was thrown to the ground,” police said. Only then did the driver notice the accident.
Foot trapped under left front tire
The Salzburg man stopped immediately, got out and saw that the 24-year-old’s left foot had turned and was still trapped under the left front tire. “He immediately drove back a bit and set the rescue chain in motion. After the first aid was given by the rescue service and the emergency room doctor, the man from Villach was taken to the LKH Villach with injuries of unknown extent.
