The General Court of the European Union has confirmed the fine of more than four million euros that Brussels has imposed on Google for abuse of dominant position with the operating system androidalthough it partially upheld the multinational’s appeal against the European Commission.
The initial fine was EUR 4,343 million and ultimately an amount of 4.125 million, only 200 million less.
As determined by the EC in 2018, Google abused its position by requiring manufacturers of mobile devices with this operating system to install certain applications, such as Google Search or the Chrome browser, by default.
