Deadly drama in the Tyrolean mountains on Tuesday! A Dutchman (33) may have fallen during a walk in the municipality of Sellrain (Innsbruck-Land district). After he didn’t return, the partner raised the alarm. Mountain rescuers found the man’s body on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old started his mountain tour at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, which led from Senderstal towards Gamskogel and Hohe Villerspitze. “When the experienced mountaineer did not report at the agreed time, his partner filed a report,” said the police. The police helicopter “Libelle” carried out a search flight on Wednesday morning.
Mountain rescuers found body
After the man’s car was spotted in Sellrain, 20 men from the Axams and Gries mountain rescue services in Sellrain set out to search the area. At around 5 p.m., they found the 33-year-old’s body in a gravel area under the northern walls.
According to the researchers, “a crash can be assumed”.
