According to the human rights commissioner of the Ukrainian parliament, the exhumed bodies included several corpses of soldiers with their hands tied, as well as entire families, including children. Moscow denies what happened, describing it as “a set-up” by Ukraine.
Kiev has revealed the discovery of 440 graves of Ukrainian civilians and a dozen alleged torture chambers in the recently liberated areas in the eastern region of Kharkov.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has stated that “mass graves are discovered in Izium after his liberation. The largest cemetery has 440 unidentified graves.”
The Human Rights Commissioner of the Ukrainian Parliament explained that among the exhumed bodies were several corpses of soldiers with their hands tied, as well as entire families, including children.
In addition, the Ukrainian authorities have confirmed the existence of at least 10 torture chambers Russians in the recovered areas of the Kharkiv region; six of them in Izium and two in Balakleya.
That is why the Ukrainian President, Volodímir Zelensky, emphasized the importance of “the world knowing what is really happening and what the Russian occupation has led to. Bucha, Mariupol, now alas Izium“.
Moscow, for its part, denies what happened, describing it as “a montage”. The Russians defend that “it was clear that Ukraine would try to repeat Bucha’s script”.
The UN Human Rights Mission in Ukraine plans to visit Izium to determine whether the victims were military or civilian, were killed in battle, or died of natural causes.
