The conflict on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan continues to escalate. Both sides accused each other of heavy weapon attacks on Friday. The Kyrgyz Border Guard said Tajik security forces had opened fire. Clashes broke out all over the border. The Tajik side also used tanks.
Tajikistan in turn accused Kyrgyz troops of attacking a Tajik border post and seven villages with heavy weapons. According to authorities in the city of Isfara, one civilian was killed and three others were injured.

The ceasefire has been in effect since Wednesday evening, 8 p.m. local time (6 p.m. CEST), as Armenian Security Council secretary Armen Grigoryan said on television.
