The anger must be great: for the second time in a few weeks, unknown vandals have demolished a construction site in Sölden in Tyrol’s Ötztal. Again they used hijacked construction equipment.
The strangers probably struck between Friday evening and Saturday morning: Just like last time, the perpetrators gained access to the construction site and started a wheel loader and an excavator there. They damaged a construction container, a portable toilet and several building materials on the property.
The extent of damage caused by the act of vandalism has not yet been determined, according to police. The investigators assume there is a connection with the very similar case two and a half weeks ago – also because it is the same construction site, as a PI Sölden official confirmed when asked by “Krone”.
The construction site was once “destroyed” in August
On the night of August 31, the site was completely destroyed by unknown persons. Even then, the perpetrators used a wheel loader to which they had gained unauthorized access. Police said at the time that the construction site was “devastated”. For reasons of investigative tactics, it was not possible for the time being to reveal whether there is already evidence of the identity of the perpetrators.
