On Sunday afternoon, a family home in Heiligenkreuz am Waasen in the Styrian district of Leibnitz went up in flames. A passer-by raised the alarm and nearly 60 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the fire. Fortunately no one was injured.
According to the police, it is still unclear why the single-family home in the St. Ulrich district was set on fire on Sunday afternoon. At least the owner wasn’t home. A passer-by noticed the fire around 2:15 p.m. and called immediately.
The fire brigades Großfelgitsch, St. Ulrich am Waasen and Heiligenkreuz/Waasen were on the scene with nine vehicles and 58 emergency services. The fire was extinguished by 3 p.m. People and animals were not harmed. First, the cause of the fire must be determined.
