Literally out of nowhere, a 21-year-old man was hit in his left forearm by a pistol bullet in his apartment in Lienz on Sunday. The reason: The neighbor of the same age had been doing exercises with his weapon, which he thought was not loaded. A shot was fired and smashed through the wall.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Assuming his gun was not loaded, the 21-year-old did dry runs in his apartment. “Maybe he forgot he just hung up the entire magazine,” the police said. The man then loaded the gun and pulled the trigger.

This created a shot that went through the wall and hit the 21-year-old resident in the adjacent apartment on the left forearm. He was injured and was transferred to the district hospital of Lienz. A temporary firearms ban was imposed on the gun owner. Several weapons and his gun law certificate were seized. This is followed by a report to the public prosecutor and the district administration.
