Observant witnesses in Vienna-Ottakring alerted the police on Monday afternoon when they found a heavily bleeding man (20) on a wooden bench. There was no trace of the perpetrator.
According to the police, the injured man was lying on a bench near Yppenplatz. Initial witness interviews revealed that during a drug deal a dispute broke out between the seriously injured 20-year-old victim and the unknown perpetrator, which escalated completely a short time later.
20-year-old seriously injured
After both lay on the ground during the argument, the stranger suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 20-year-old several times. Shortly afterwards, the suspect fled. The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack and was immediately taken to hospital after receiving first aid.
Police found a small amount of drugs on the victim, which was seized. Further investigations are still ongoing. Relevant information (also anonymous) is accepted at any police station in Vienna.

This operation was not the only alarm for police involving a knife in recent hours. Monday evening around 6 p.m., a 26-year-old with a stab wound to his upper body went to a police station on Siebenbrunnengasse in the Margareten district. He reported that he was the victim of a knife attack.
Initial investigation revealed that the man had met other men in a park with whom he had had issues in the past. During an argument there was a knife attack. This information likely coincides with witness sightings. They called 911 because they saw an altercation and a man with a knife in a park.
Immediately started searches yielded nothing. The 26-year-old received emergency medical care from the professional rescue service and was taken to hospital. There was no danger to life.
