A 29-year-old fell from a height of 20 feet onto a pile of wood chips. Carinthian mountain rescuers had to move in…
On a farm in the Hermagor district, three men opened the lid of the roller-mounted wood chip bunker on Monday afternoon and pushed it aside. A 29-year-old may have overlooked the hole and fell in – after being able to hold on to the lid for a short time: he fell six meters deep and landed on a pile of wood chips, which could only partially slow the impact off.
Six mountain rescuers on duty
Emergency doctor, ambulance personnel and first responders were alerted – and the mountain rescuers from the Lesachtal: Six of them rescued the man from the bunker. The injured person was flown to the hospital in Lienz by the rescue helicopter team “RK1”.
