Earlier this year, at the vaccination center in St. Pölten, a 58-year-old man was caught red-handed issuing vaccination certificates without giving an injection. The Viennese was immediately released and arrested. Now he had to – among other things – answer to the court in St. Pölten.
At the beginning of this year, a palpable scandal over fake coronavirus vaccinations in the Lower Austrian capital spread far and wide. As the “Krone” reported, a man working at the St. Pöltner vaccination center was caught falsifying certificates. Now the former nurse – he has since been released – and two accomplices had to answer to the court. Beside them in the dock sat more than a dozen of the “vaccine refusers” who gratefully used their services.

When the trial started on Thursday morning, there was a lot of activity at the St. Pölten Regional Court. Two rows in the courtroom were reserved for the accused. 15 of them had gathered and soon a common motive emerged among all involved: pure fear. On the one hand, exclusion from public life without proof of vaccination, and on the other hand, from the unexplored side effects. In many cases, the employer has threatened with consequences.
False vaccination certificates issued
The machinations of the two main defendants came at just the right time for them. Rumors soon circulated that the two sham vaccinations could be picked up. And that’s deceptively real. The procedure was always the same: an appointment and a sign of identification (a circle drawn on the hand with a pen) were agreed in advance. After the obligatory preliminary meeting with the doctor, those involved went to the vaccination cabin, the area was disinfected and the needle was injected. The small but subtle difference: The vaccine was injected into the trash before. This was followed by just one “no effect” stitch.
The former nurse’s lawyer described his client’s erroneous actions as “the tip of a long string of wrong decisions.” Because in addition to the incited vaccination scandal, the 58-year-old had to answer to the court for drug trafficking. After three failed marriages and health problems, the Mostviertel turned to drugs. In addition to his own cocaine use, he also started selling it. He eventually got carried away with the fake vaccination, probably to fund his own addiction. Between 150 and 200 euros ended up in his pocket after a “no trick”.
Suspended sentences for three defendants
Ultimately, the main defendant – the 58-year-old former nurse – was sentenced to two years in prison for drug trafficking and falsifying evidence, as well as undergoing drug treatment. The two “handymen” – a 43-year-old and a 48-year-old – were given five months and three months’ probation for falsifying evidence – they also contributed to the issue of false vaccination certificates. The 43-year-old Viennese had mediated acquaintances and relatives for sham vaccinations.
