The Spanish economy has grown 1.5% according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) between April and June is 1.7 points higher than the rate recorded in the first quarter and four tenths higher than the rate recorded in July last year.
The annual rise of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 6.8%compared to 6.7% in the previous quarter.
The acceleration in annual GDP growth is due to the greater contribution from the foreign sector and, to a lesser extent, of national demand.
At the end of July, data provided by the INE for the second quarter pointed to quarterly GDP growth of 1.1% and an inter-year rate of 6.3%.
