The Italian electoral authorities have reported that at 7 p.m. this Sunday, the participation has reached 51%, seven points lower than the figure registered at the same time in the previous elections, in 2018. More than 50.8 million Italians will be able to vote up to 23 00:00 to elect the 400 deputies of the House and the 200 senators, a third less than now.

Among the voters who have not yet turned up at their polling stations, the big favorite in the assemblies is the candidate of the far-right Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, who will vote from 10 p.m. the leading role for closing the polls remains.

The far-right leader has therefore posted a short message on Twitter: “Let’s make history together.”

He also posted a video on TikTok in which he appears with a serious expression holding a melon in each hand, a reference to his last name. in front of his chest and says the sentence “September 25th. I said it all” before winking at the camera. The Italian electoral system foresees that the first exit polls will be published at 11 p.m. Hours later, the final results can be announced.
