According to Exit Polls, Italy’s parliamentary elections are marked by a victory for the centre-right alliance centered around favored and right-wing politician Giorgia Meloni. According to the published exit polls, the center-right coalition is likely to win between 41 and 45 percent of the vote.
Meloni’s right-wing populist “Brothers of Italy” (FdI – Fratelli d Italia) is likely to be the strongest party with 22 to 26 percent of the vote. Former Prime Minister Enrico Letta’s Democratic Party (PD) should have won between 17 and 21 percent.
Five Star Movement should come in third with 13.5 to 17.5 percent of the vote. According to the opinion research institute Opinio Italia, the Lega, which is affiliated with Meloni around former Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, has to make do with between 8.5 and 12.5 percent of the vote.
