Terrible accident at sunrise on the A8 near Haag am Hausruck: A 16-year-old was hit by a car on the highway. As he lay on the ground, another vehicle rolled over him, dragging his body several meters. This steering wheel didn’t even stop. The youth died.
The fatal traffic accident took place on Sunday morning on the A8 in the municipality of Haag am Hausruck. A 19-year-old driver from Germany was driving in the right-hand lane towards Sattledt at around 5:40 am. Suddenly there was a person on the road. The person standing on the road, a 16-year-old from the Ried im Innkreis district, was hit by the 19-year-old’s car and thrown to the ground.
Driver kept driving
The 16-year-old died at the scene of the accident. According to a witness, the victim was run over by another vehicle and dragged after the collision. The driver of the second vehicle continued without stopping. Further investigations are underway. The highway was completely blocked in the vicinity of the accident for about four hours.
