Gang smashed – Pregnant women ran drug network in Leibnitz

Date:

Great success in the fight against drug crime: in Leibnitz (Styria) a network led by a pregnant woman was dismantled.

Drugs worth about two million euros. A couple from Leibnitz (26 and 29) in Styria is said to have spread so much. On Monday, the results of the investigations by the Leibnitz Criminal Investigation Group and the Graz Public Prosecution Service against the two were presented.

As early as March, the then heavily pregnant woman and her boyfriend were arrested by the special Cobra unit at Graz Central Station. At that time, they wanted to buy 70 grams of cocaine to resell.

Drugs in the diaper bag
In the months before that, they made several trips to Vienna, Hungary and Poland, where they bought the drugs, which they resold at a profit in Styria. The drugs were often hidden in the diaper bag of the four-year-old daughter.

The duo built a real network of couriers and dealers, through which the police investigated a total of 30 suspects. The woman, who gave birth to her child in June, would have been the hub of the network.

The gang organized itself through partially encrypted messages in various messenger and social media services.
