Spectacular accident Monday in Tyrol’s Unterland: After a 63-year-old resident parked his car in front of a house in Going am Wilden Kaiser (Kitzbühel district), the car rolled away and eventually fell 40 meters over a steep slope into a stream bed. The owner ran after the car and fell several meters down the slope. He sustained injuries.
At around 11 a.m., the 63-year-old parked his car in a parking lot in front of the house and left the engine running. Once the local was a few yards from the car, he rolled into the adjacent field – initially 90 yards downhill slightly, before falling about 40 yards over the steep slope and coming to a stop in a streambed.
Owner injured in ‘chase’
“When the man tried to stop his car, he was injured while running after it. He also fell a few meters over the slope, but was able to climb back up on his own,” police said.
With rescue to the hospital
The injured person received first aid from the alarmed rescue service and was then taken to the hospital in St. Johann. The damaged vehicle was subsequently recovered by the fire brigade and a towing company.
