Experts from China think the daughter of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un can now be seen for the first time at an event. The girl is said to have taken the stage at a National Day celebration. South Korea now wants to review the images.
A small gesture could have exposed the daughter of North Korea’s despots. Attentive experts noted how Jung Un’s wife, Ri Sol Ju, tenderly placed a hand on a girl’s back during the pompous celebration of the National Day and also exchanged a few words with her. The appearance itself was also remarkable: the young lady was most often seen during the state television broadcast, although there were dozens of children on stage, North Korea expert Michael Madden told the Daily Mail.
“She is expected to be nearly 10 years old by 2022, which is roughly the age of the girl portrayed in state media images,” Madden said. The South Korean Ministry of Reunification is also said to be investigating the matter.
Similar procedure as ever with the dictator’s wife?
The daughter – like his wife once did – may only get to see a few performances before being officially introduced as a family member. “Madame Ri has appeared on North Korean television several times as a singer, sometimes as a soloist at concerts,” explains the expert. Only then was she introduced as the dictator’s wife.

The dictator is said to have three children, two of whom with his wife. Ex-basketball player Dennis Rodman revealed in 2013 that one of his daughters is called Ju Ae. The former athlete revealed in an interview with The Guardian that he even held his daughter when he visited North Korea. “He’s a good father and has a beautiful family,” Rodman said. It was only in 2012 that it became known that the dictator was even married.
