There are new details about the attack on a gas station in Hallwang, Salzburg: the robber wanted by the police has apparently revealed his motive to the victim. After the attack, he fled with little loot. Police are looking for him and enlist the public’s help.
The robber had waited exactly seven minutes at the Jet gas station in Hallwang on Sunday evening before doing it. This is evident from surveillance camera images. Was he insecure? Did he feel compelled to act because of lack of money? The latter could fit in with new details from the study. The robber apparently revealed his motive when he asked for cash: “I need the money for my sick mother,” he told the victim, according to “Krone” research — and this at gunpoint.
The threatened employee (24) handed over all the money from the cash register, a small amount of change. After that, the 24-year-old had to empty all the boxes and shops in the office of the gas station and also open the second cash register at the request of the robber. But no money was found, the Salzburg police said. The entire robbery lasted eight minutes.
The executive is now intensifying the search for the robber: According to the victims’ information, the person they were looking for was between 6 and 6 feet tall, dressed in dark clothing and masked with an FFP2 mask. A foreigner is suspected because of the accent. One item of clothing in particular stands out in the mugshots: the dotted jacket.
Police are asking the public for information on: 059 133/50 3333.
