“Jackie, are you here?”: Biden’s new slip in which he asks about a deceased congressman

Date:

The president of the United States is looking for Jackie Walorski, a lawmaker who was killed in a car accident during an event at the White House in August.

United States President Joe Bien adds another slip to his list of verbal abuse in public. At 79, he is the oldest president in the country’s history, and almost every time he speaks into a microphone, his error-laden comments go viral. On this occasion, at a White House conference on food insecurity, the Democratic leader asked about a deceased congressman.

“Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie?” Biden asked, searching the room for Jackie Walorski, a lawmaker who died in a car accident last month (Biden then offered condolences to her family) and deeply committed to fighting malnutrition. “I think she’d be here,” the president insisted, but didn’t find her in public.

The press quickly asked about the slip. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre limited herself to pointing out that Biden Walorski “had a lot in mind”, whose family he will meet tomorrow, on the occasion of the signing of a law, to pay tribute to his “remarkable” fight against malnutrition. “I feel that many of us have experienced that particular moment, you know, where you have someone in mind and you call them,” added Jean-Pierre, who emphasized that he did not find the situation “disturbing”.

The decline thus adds to the long list that Biden had. And he warned himself as early as 2020. “I’m a messed up machine,” he warned at the time. He recently delivered a State of the Union address to his compatriots in which he devoted a few words to the war in Ukraine. “Putin may surround Kiev with tanks, but he will never win the hearts and souls of the Iranian people,” he claimed instead of mentioning the Ukrainian people.

The US president, who has also been caught dozing off at a very inopportune time and place — like the opening session of the latest climate change summit in Scotland — screwed up again in January this year when he responded to a question from a Fox News reporter in the White House. Biden forgot the mic was on and heard him call him “stupid bastard.” Although he later apologized to the reporter, the incident was picked up by the media and quickly went viral on social media. He also previously referred to his vice president, Kamala Harris, as “Chairman Harris.”
