Suspect was drunk
The partner of the seriously injured man is still a suspect. She allegedly set fire to a blanket under the influence of alcohol and left the apartment after being unable to extinguish the fire. The woman is said to be suffering from mental illness.
Shortly afterwards, she was transferred to a psychiatric ward and charged with negligently causing a fire. The woman has now been arrested on the orders of the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. She is currently still in hospital due to health problems and is being monitored by the law.
