Unusual material damage is reported from Feldkirchen in Carinthia. A stranger may have fallen asleep on a train. When parked locked in the station, the person smashed the window at night to get out.
At 11:30 PM on the night from Monday to Tuesday, an ÖBB passenger train was parked at the station in Feldkirchen. So normal so far. However, one person is believed to have been accidentally locked in the train, possibly falling asleep while driving.
Between 11:30 PM and about 5:00 AM the next morning, the stranger woke up and smashed the safety window with an emergency hammer to climb out of the closed train through the hole.
“The resulting material damage is likely to be between 5,000 and 10,000 euros. The smashed double pane of safety glass is very expensive,” reports a police officer from the Patergassen Inspectorate.

Police are investigating serious material damage. And that despite the fact that the person has freed himself from a blocked train? “For the time being, we have to file a report against an unknown person because the person has not reported himself to the police, even though the police station is directly opposite,” the police officer continues. In addition, it must be checked whether there was no other way to draw attention to yourself or to free yourself. “It’s a matter of appropriateness,” he said.
The police requests relevant information from the population by calling 059133-2205.
