It’s a cold morning in the UK this weekend, but meteorologists say the weather will be much warmer before Easter. A high temperature of 19°C can reach southeast England in the middle of the week, a few degrees above average for that time of year.
Similar temperatures are expected over the Easter holiday, according to Metro. Meteorologist Stephen Keats said: “The further south and east you go, the higher your chances of seeing mostly dry conditions over the Easter weekend.
“It’s probably very good to be in the sun already, as the temperature is probably in the hottest part of the year. So maybe you’re looking at the teens in the middle and maybe the top. It probably looks promising in the south and east, with more north and west mixing.”
He said people are likely to wake up this weekend from the bitter cold – and sun and showers are expected on Saturday. He added that temperatures would peak at 13 degrees, while mercury in Scotland would only reach 9 degrees.
Sunday is expected to be a mostly dry day, with torrential rain in Northern Ireland, while temperatures in central and southern England will hover around slightly 14 degrees. The Easter temperature of 19 degrees is a “reasonable” forecast, Keats said, with a relatively average temperature of 14 degrees in the southeast at this time of year.
While the current outlook is promising, people need to keep an eye on the outlook “whether you have outdoor plans or plans to travel,” he said. “But at the moment, nothing stands in the way of hopelessness,” he added.
