Sunday afternoon, in the middle of Oftering (Upper Austria): A car blocked an intersection and an elderly person slept behind the wheel. Emergency services needed patience and strength to get the drunk out of the car.
“There’s a woman sleeping in the car in the middle of the intersection – we can’t get past it!” In Ofterin, motorists raised the alarm with the police on Sunday afternoon. When the officers arrived at the Mitsubishi, which was “parked” at the intersection of Mayrgutstrasse and Kirschstettener Strasse, they found the driver (70) asleep in the driver’s seat.
The official act was difficult because the elderly woman, who was visibly intoxicated, kept falling asleep sitting and falling over.
Transported in the Red Cross car
The alcohol test was impossible, as was the transfer to the ambulance, which had meanwhile been alerted. So everyone worked together to carry the drunk local to the Red Cross car. She came to the Welsh hospital to sober up. The driver’s license is gone, the sticker on the car has expired.
