In Gunskirchen (Upper Austria), an environmental alert was issued at short notice after a tanker and a car collided. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch. Record: two seriously injured.
Police have not yet worked out the exact course of the accident, but it is clear that the tanker and the car collided at the intersection of Wiener Strasse and Gärtner Strasse. The car had probably driven onto the B1 from the side road and had been rammed by the truck coming from the left.
Both vehicles have run off the road, overturned or overturned. The car, which was carrying two people, remained on the roof, the truck tractor stopped and the trailer tipped over to the side.
Tank Content Concerns
An environmental alert was first issued, but apparently the tank was intact. The liquids loaded therein – urea and AdBlue – were pumped around by the fire service before the trailer could be set up.
The seriously injured occupants have now been freed from the car and taken to hospital in Wels by the emergency doctor or rescue helicopter. The Wiener Strasse had to be closed between Gunskirchen and Edt near Lambach.
