In the fight against the roadrunner scene, the Vienna police again carried out important actions on Saturday evening – including on the Kahlenberg in Vienna. The balance of the checks: quite a number of notifications.
The Kahlenberg in particular is very popular in the scene, the management counted up to 300 vehicles during the checks on Saturday evening. 46 officers were involved in the action. The number of advertisements is impressive: there were 446 for speeding alone and twelve for noise measurements.
Missing driver’s licenses, alcohol and drug drivers
Six drivers also had to surrender their driver’s license and six didn’t even have it with them. In four cases, it placed advertisements because the drivers had used drugs or alcohol. In addition, 102 directorships have been issued.
Tuned cars were also targeted and a total of six were assessed. The result: “There were a total of 66 reports of motor vehicle violations,” said police spokesman Christopher Verhnjak.
Again, significant speeding offenses had to be identified in the course of the priority actions, it said. Sometimes speeders were twice as fast as allowed. Fines totaling 2,350 euros were imposed. “By stepping up control activities and increasing the frequency of checks, the Vienna Police is taking resolute action against ruthless speeders,” said Viennese chief of police Gerhard Pürstl.
