Serious traffic accident Thursday afternoon in the Tyrolean lowlands: According to the first information, a car belonging to a local population was hit by a set of the Zillertalbahn at a level crossing in Wiesing (Schwaz district). The woman was hospitalized with injuries.
As described by the Tyrol control center on the “Krone”, the serious accident took place around 12.15 pm. However, it is still unclear how the collision between the car and the Zillertalbahn could have happened.
Driver trapped in wreckage
The force of the impact threw the car into the adjacent field. The driver was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by firefighters. She suffered injuries, the seriousness of which is not yet known – as well as the identity of the driver. She was taken by ambulance to the Schwaz district hospital.
The Wiesing, Jenbach and Schwaz fire brigade, the rescue team including the emergency doctor and the police were in action.
