Incredibly violent attack late Thursday night in Kufstein in Tyrol: a 39-year-old taxi driver was attacked and injured by an unknown couple with a baseball bat. A brave passer-by intervened and prevented further attacks on the woman. The perpetrators were eventually able to go into hiding. Now the police are urgently looking for witnesses.
The brutal attack took place around 10:15 pm in the vicinity of the Kaiserbergstrae of Kufstein. For reasons unknown, the couple suddenly attacked the taxi driver and hit her with a baseball bat. The 39-year-old suffered injuries and had to be taken to the district hospital by ambulance.
What did the perpetrators want to do with the victim? The police are still baffled. It is thanks to a passerby that the woman was not beaten further. “An uninvolved, previously unknown person was able to prevent the two perpetrators from further attacks on the injured taxi driver by intervening,” investigators say. Another witness may have seen the crime.
Witnesses are wanted
The police are asking these two persons and any other witnesses to come forward. So far there is no trace of the attackers.
