Most recently, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, whose fighters also wage war against the Ukrainian military, has repeatedly been extremely critical of the Russian military’s decisions and failures. But Putin’s 46-year-old confidante was pleased with the retaliation against Kiev and other major cities. At the same time, Kadyrov warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: “Russia hasn’t even really started yet.”
“Stop whining like crazy and run before it hits you,” demanded the 46-year-old ruler, who has been accused of numerous human rights violations. “How about you: you can and others can’t?” Kadyrov further wrote his Telegram channel on Monday.
Kadyrov blamed the Kiev leadership for the prolonged bombardment of the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine, stating: “Now I am 100 percent satisfied with the conduct of the special military operation.” In Russia, the war against Ukraine is still officially called military special operation. Kadyrov was promoted to colonel general last week for his “services” in the war.
Zelenskyy: ‘Russia wants to destroy Ukraine’
Ukraine had a total of 83 missiles on Monday. Russia is trying to destroy Ukraine, Zelenskyy said. According to the government, 11 key infrastructure facilities in Kiev and eight regions have been damaged. “Some areas are now cut off from the outside world. You have to be prepared for temporary interruptions in light, water supply and communication,” Prime Minister Denys Schmyhal said via the short message service Telegram.
Ukraine vowed revenge for Russian missile strikes. “There are casualties among the people and destruction,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on its Facebook page. “The enemy will be punished for the pain and death inflicted on our country! We will take revenge!” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called Putin “a terrorist whose language is missiles”.
