Moscow’s security services have arrested eight people, including five Russian nationals, for their alleged connection to Saturday’s attack on the Kerch Bridge, which Moscow blames on Ukrainian military intelligence.

According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), all those arrested, including citizens of Ukraine and Armenia, in one way or another participated in the preparation of an action that partially destroyed the viaduct connecting Crimea with the Russian Federation. In total, he identified twelve accomplices.

Russian investigators have attributed the attack – “terrorist” in Moscow’s eyes – to a hidden explosive initially sent from the port of Odessa, in Ukraine, to that of Ruse, in Bulgaria. The freight route would continue through Georgia and Armenia.

The final stage, that of the entry into Crimea of ​​the artifact, would have been possible thanks to the forgery of documents committed by five Russians and a Ukrainian who set up a ghost company responsible for receiving the merchandise, according to the official version. collected by the Interfax office.

Finally, on October 8, a powerful explosion destroyed part of an infrastructure that is especially symbolic of Russia, insofar as it is the land connection to a peninsula that it has claimed as its property since 2014, as a result of an annexation that Ukraine has always fought.
