In Austria, 17,848 new infections with the corona virus were reported the day before. 23 other people infected with the virus died. Compared to the previous day, there was no further increase in the number of patients in intensive care.
An increase of 45 corona patients was reported in the normal wards (total 2463 occupied beds), the number of patients in the intensive care units did not increase compared to the previous day (total 130 occupied beds). That makes a total of 2593 corona patients in hospitals.
The data status of the epidemiological reporting system (EMS) related to the corona pandemic in Austria is updated daily in the afternoon on the dashboard of AGES (Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety). The data reflects what happens between midnight and midnight of the respective event day before wider.
