Bad luck for an 18-year-old driver and her passenger (17) Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean Absam (Innsbruck-Land district): Her car overturned by a deer on the road and remained on the roof.
The young woman was driving west on Walderstrasse in Absam around 10:50 p.m. when a deer ran onto the road right in front of her car, according to police. The locals wanted to avoid the animal and came off the road to the left. The car overturned and landed on its roof in a wooded area under the road.

The driver and her 17-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident. They managed to climb out of the wreckage through the passenger side and call for help. The rescue took them both to the hospital in Hall in Tirol after the emergency.
The car was a total loss. The Walderstraße had to be closed briefly after the accident to recover the vehicle.
