For example, a Brazilian pensioner who fell victim to a bizarre scam via social media. Ex-‘Terminator’ Arnie is in financial trouble, brazen thieves have announced. As absurd as this may sound to many, a 74-year-old fan of the Hollywood star believed every word and immediately followed her compassion with action.
Something was promised in return
To help her idol in her supposed emergency, the retiree sold her car and her house and also took out loans. The group behind the scam promised that Schwarzenegger would return a large sum of money to them after a certain period of time.
Eventually, the woman suspected fraud and filed a lawsuit. She is now seeking double the amount of the money lost, as well as $16,000 in compensation for moral damages. The lawsuit was filed against 13 identified people to whom the money was passed.
