During a visit to the bank, an employee has just taken a photo of a pensioner’s debit card. Within a month she withdrew 65,000 euros from the account. For this, she was given a prison sentence by the Vienna Regional Court.
“First I did it for my family,” she says before the judge in the Vienna Regional Court. And then she realized that she could also easily use money for herself: an old gentleman wanted to have his account balance checked at the bank – there the young woman worked. “She took advantage of the man’s ignorance and age,” the indictment said.
Incorrect signature on receipts
She photographed his bank card and raised a total of 65,000 euros in one month! Defender Mirsad Musliu: “It was only a matter of time before this was discovered.” She signed the payment slips with a false name. The 23-year-old bought designer bags, brand watches and other luxuries with the stolen money.
She was sentenced to 16 months, four of which in prison, for aggravated commercial theft. Reason: “Many people can’t save that amount in their entire lives.”
