Support in Vienna – Millions for Migrant Association at the best location

Date:

The Advisory Center for Migrants wants 3.3 million euros in financing. The application raises a few questions – but answers are guilty. The last investigation by the city rate yard was eight years ago …

Vienna is the number 1 contact point for immigrants. Many tasks are therefore outsourced to private clubs – such as the Migrants Advice Center. This can be done by the city of Vienna, the AMs and various ministries.

The city has only released almost a million euros in the financial committee. The AMS has also approved almost 1.5 million euros. The Ministry of Labor also promised 550,000 euros. In the case of the migrant association, the taxpayer would relax a total of around 3.3 million euros per year.

What is the money for?
But for what? A look at the (scarce homepage) provides few answers – there is advice and events (currently none). No information about the people in the background, etc. Three locations in an excellent location in the city in the Hohen Markt. The “Kroon” therefore asked: why three offices? And why in the 1st district? How high are the rental costs? How many employees does the association have and who is behind it?

Infertile answer
The answers here are also very scarce. The association has been around for more than 40 years. The responsible authorities are regularly checked and “long -term rental contracts are extremely favorable since 1983”. No information about employees, organs or figures. Significant: even the answer -E -mail is only sent anonymously. The sender is only the association.

Costs provide answers
A glance at the expenditure of the association will be interesting. This is the “crown”. 2.45 million euros for salaries, 220,000 euros translation costs, 44,000 euros only for the maintenance of the IT system, 23,200 euros for telephone and internet, as well as annual costs of EUR 15,500 for databases and the homepage. The “particularly cheap rental conditions” also cost 244,000 euros per year.

Latest exam in 2016
And a request from Mon 17 reveals for integration and diversity: the last time the association was examined in 2016 by the city rate. And according to the 2023 activity report, the association had 24 employees. In the year the salary costs amounted to almost 1.9 million euros. Before 2025 you expect 2.45 million euros – a rich increase.

“You need full training”
Incidentally, the FPö did not agree with the financing. The FPö boss van Vienna, Dominik Nepp: “Here three million euros in tax money are pumped into an Asylum Advisory Association that only spends 250,000 euros for his office and 220,000 euros per year for interpreters. This is another example of the fact that the money in Vienna has been spent completely incorrectly. In any case, we will call in the city rate. It costs complete training. ”
