After our warning: – Lebanon refuses to hide Jets from Iran to Beirut

Date:

The Lebanon has denied two flights from Iran this week. The country’s authorities were previously warned by the United States that Israel would attack the airport (photo above) if the Iranian machines land there.

“The American side told the Lebanese side that Israel is serious about the warning,” said it. As a result, the responsible ministries had refused the landing permit for the Iranian machines before their departure, the AFP press office reported.

The decision was agreed with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon, said the source. The first flight should have landed in Beirut on Thursday, the second on Friday.

The Lebanese authorities had decided to refuse the landing to protect the Iranian machines to protect the airport and travelers, Salam said. In general, however, all flights arriving from Iran would be “strictly controlled” was said from security circles.

Protests from supporters of the Hisbollah
As a result of the refusal of the landing on Friday, there were protests from supporters of the Hezbollah militia, which blocked access to the airport. Israel had accused the Hisbollah several times with Iran to bring weapons from Iran to the land of Beirut. The Hisbollah and the Lebanese authorities have always disputed this.

The conflict between the Hisbollah and Israel had escalated again on October 7, 2023 after the large attack on the radical Israel Hamas connected to the Lebanese militia. Since the end of November there has been a ceasefire. Both parties regularly accuse themselves of breaking them.
