A sleeping homeless person was stabbed in a park in Vienna on Sunday night. The woman awoke in severe pain and dragged herself in the direction of the Praterstern until she was received by emergency services. So far there is no trace of the culprit. The police have started the investigation.
The homeless woman spent the night in a green spot in Venice Au Park near an exit to the Praterstern subway station. While the 51-year-old was sleeping, the knife attack suddenly occurred around 3:40 am. An unknown perpetrator inflicted multiple stab and cut wounds on the woman.
Woman woke up in severe pain
The homeless person said she woke up from a sudden pain. According to the victim, it was a male perpetrator, further information was not given. The seriously injured woman was able to move towards the Praterstern before she received emergency medical attention from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was taken to a hospital, where she continues to be treated as an inpatient. Multiple stab wounds were found in the structure and pelvic area, according to professional rescue spokesman Daniel Melcher.
